Mr. James Texerra “Tex” Smith, 76 of Mount Airy, passed away at his home on Tuesday September 23, 2025. He was born May 27, 1949, in Surry County to the late James Herman Smith and Verona Lowery Smith. He retired from the HVAC industry and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Smith proudly served our country in the US Air Force, and he was a sergeant during the Vietnam war. Tex and his wife loved to go camping, visit the ocean and the mountains, and classic cars.
