Funeral service for James Ruddle "Jim" Smith, 86, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Friday, October 17th, 2025 at Jones Chapel First Baptist Church with interment in Jones Chapel Cemetery, Bro. Randall Edmondson and Bro. Chris Chambless officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11-2 p.m.

Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

Mr. Smith passed away October 15th, 2025 at CRMC. He was born March 21,1939. Jim was a member of Jones Chapel First Baptist Church and a member of the Masons, Hartwell Lodge # 101 of Alabama. He loved football, all sports, and spending time with his family. He retired from American Proteins after many years. The family would especially like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Woodland Village Health Care for the special care given to Jim.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Alven & Orland Dorsey and a step-son, Jon Mosher.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Smith; son, Michael (Julie) Smith; daughter, Kristine (Vern) Sahyleh; step-daughter, Sherry (Kenny) Robinson; brothers, William 'Bill' (Linda) Dorsey, John Phillip Dorsey; sisters, Mary Rose (Danny) Junkins, Scherry (Greg) Chambers, Angie Donlin; granddaughter, Willa Sahyleh; step-grandsons, Jonathan Adams, Corey Robinson, Jacob Mosher, Justin Mosher; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Adams, Vern Sahyleh, Jacob Mosher, Justin Mosher, Craig Thomas, Cole Brown.
