James A. Smith

On March 15, 2026, James A Smith, lifelong resident of Kearny, New Jersey passed away after a short illness. James, or Smitty as he was called by many people, worked at Western Electric in Kearny then became a police officer in East Orange, New Jersey until retiring as a detective after 25 years in 1998. He then worked part-time as a security guard at his beloved Giant Stadium. He was a diehard, Giants and Yankee fan and loved fishing with his two sons very much. He is survived by his wife Michele (Manley), his son, James (Adrienne) and his two grandchildren, Zach and Sage. He was predeceased by his son Christopher. He also is survived by his two sisters, Linda Radzinsky (Ronnie) and MaryEllen Losito and many nieces and nephews. Services handled by Alvarez Memorial Home will be private.
