James "Jim" Ray Snider, 73, of Lake Charles, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at his residence with family by his side. A native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Jim was born on November 4, 1951 to Junious "JC" and Ruth Snider. He graduated from LaGrange Sr. High in 1971. Those who knew him recognized his unwavering dedication to serve the Lord. He was a dedicated member of Victory Baptist Church serving as Head Deacon, a Silver Saints member, and actively participating in numerous other ministries.
Jim was a fun, kind, loving, and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He found great joy in spending time outdoors hunting and fishing alongside his sons, grandchildren, and friends. He also loved traveling with his wife and family. He was a talented electrician for IBEW local 861, contractor, and cattleman, and was known for his dedication and hard work in every aspect of his life. He was the owner and operator of Snider Electric Company and Wrangler Construction Company. He was greatly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Sally Ann Snider, sons; Michael James Snider (Kim), Kevin Mark Snider (Beth), Chad David Snider (Amanda), Jeremy Daniel Snider (Blair), 11 grandchildren; Emily Turner (Travor), Colson Snider, Reid Snider, Abbie Snider, Mia Snider, Sophie Snider, Grace Snider, Bayleigh Snider, Brynlee Snider, Jett Snider, Katelyn Rivers, brothers; Robert Jay Snider and Steve Snider, niece; Sheri Marcucci, as well as other numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Connie Young, Debbie Taylor.
The celebration of Jim's life will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 2:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Bro. Wayne Dartez will officiate.
Visitation will begin at 11:00AM Friday, December 6, 2024, and last until start of service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family has asked that contributions be made to the Victory Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
