James Russell "Jim" Squire of Dunwoody, Georgia, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. Born on September 14, 1939, in Johnstown, PA, Jim enriched the lives of all who knew him through his devotion to family and generous spirit toward friends and the community. Jim pursued an accomplished education at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He subsequently dedicated his professional career to excellence in diverse capacities. Initially working as a Research & Development Engineer, Jim applied his technical expertise to improve industry practices. Later, Jim transitioned his career into Sales and Market Development Management, where he worked for leading companies like IBM, General Electric and Apple as well as starting a few of his own companies. He eventually found passion and fulfillment as he partnered with his wife (Gloria Jean) in her successful residential real estate career.

Family was Jim's greatest joy and pride; he was a supportive and devoted husband, first to Sharon Squire, who preceded him in death, and later to Gloria Jean Squire, who survives him. Jim's memory and legacy will live on through his children: David C. Squire (Elizabeth) of Portland Oregon, Steven J Squire (Cathrine) of St. Simons Island Georgia and Andrea S Jones (Evan) of Athens Georgia along with the eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren(with one on the way) he treasured. He was proud of their accomplishments and loved spending time together. Outside of his professional and family commitments, Jim was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed days on any golf course. He also took great pleasure in annual ski trips across Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and British Columbia with his sons. Jim particularly treasured family vacations at the beach with those he loved most. The anchor of his life was his faith in his Lord and Savior; because of this, we do not grieve without hope. His highest calling was walking in the extravagant love of his Father in heaven which spilled over to a world in desperate need of a Savior. He was an active member of Kingswood Methodist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. His longtime membership with the church offered him fellowship, spiritual strength, and an opportunity to serve others, which he embraced wholeheartedly.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Kingswood Methodist Church in Dunwoody on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Family, friends, and all who knew, and loved Jim are invited to attend and celebrate the fullness of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jim's honor to Kingswood Methodist Church-a testament to Jim's enduring love for his faith and community.

For those that cannot attend, services will be livestreamed at https://kingswood.church/live.
