James Randall Stanworth, born on July 31, 1964, in Roosevelt, Utah, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in South Ogden, Utah. He was the cherished son of Keith R. and Anne Marie Hooper Stanworth. Growing up, James developed a deep appreciation for family and community, values he carried throughout his life.
James achieved his Master’s in Business Finance, reflecting his dedication to education and ambition in his professional pursuits. His commitment to service was evident during his time in the Army, where he honored his country with pride and integrity.
On January 12, 2001, James married the love of his life, Sara Lim. Together, they built a beautiful family, His love for his children and wife was immeasurable, and he took great pride in being a devoted husband and father.
Throughout his life, he lived in various places, including Cedar City and Ogden, as well as serving overseas in Germany. Each of these experiences shaped him into the caring and compassionate person he became.
In his final days, James expressed special gratitude to the nurses Amber and Misti Hoglin from IHC Hospice, whose support and care provided comfort during his illness. Thank you to the wonderful Meadow Ward members who came often to help Sara with James. His commitment to his family and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Sara; children, Sara E. Stanworth, Catherine Stanworth, Henry Stanworth, Fletcher Stanworth, and Samantha Stanworth; as well as his mother, Anne Marie; and his sisters, Raquel Hill and Maria (Jimmy) Twitchell. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith R. Stanworth.
James Randall Stanworth's legacy of love, kindness, and service will not be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Services entrusted Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
