James Stark Obituary

James Howard Stark

1949 ~ 2025

Murray, UT-James Howard Stark passed away peacefully at age 76 in his home on the evening of September 4, 2025. He was born in California on June 28, 1949. He attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah where he met his wife Jayna. They were married August 22, 1970. He joined the Navy and lived in various places before settling in the Salt Lake Valley after his service ended. He worked a variety of jobs before being hired as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service where he retired after 25+ years of service.

Jim enjoyed baseball, theater, singing and music (especially jazz), animals, movies, puns and dad jokes and his family.

He is survived by his wife Jayna, children: Jaynette, Jaron (Scott), Jamien (Emily), Jillene (Scott), grandchildren: Cassidy (Adam), David (Emma), TJ, Kayden, Taylor, Devan and Jonas.

A celebration of life will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 7486 Union Park Avenue, Midvale, Utah 84047, Sept. 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow the interment of the ashes into the columbarium. Come with "puny" Jim stories to share."
