James E. "Jimmy" Stewart, 66, of Keyser, WV, died on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Keyser Healthcare Center while under the care of Mountain Hospice.

Born on February 11, 1959 in Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late Harry A. and Caroline L. (Dryer) Stewart. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Stewart and his father-in-law, George "Bob" Lark.

Mr. Stewart worked for Allegany Ballistics Laboratory for over 15 years ands retired in 2023 as the Chief of Police in Elk Garden, WV. He was a a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Elk Garden. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed eating breakfast with his close friends.

Surviving is his wife of nearly 34 years, Lana J. (Lark) Stewart; his children, Shannon Marie Champ and husband Tommy of Lahmansville, WV, Taylor J. Stewart and girlfriend Jadzia of Keyser and Kelsey J. Long and husband Charles of Keyser; eight grandchildren, Skylar, Trynleigh, Alydia, Milisyn, Piercyn, Shelva, Jacoby and Beau; his sister, Jane E. Pennington and husband Bob of Keyser; mother-in-law, Neva Lark of Keyser; sister-in-law, Sherry Riggleman and husband Jason of Keyser; brother-in-law, Robert S. Lark and wife Krista of Keyser and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Biser officiating.
