James Stine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meadors Funeral Home - Republic Chapel on Jan. 24, 2026.
James Franklin Stine, age 88, passed away on January 23, 2026. He was born on November 6, 1937, in Ozark, Missouri, to Frank Henry Stine and Jewell Estes Stine.

On January 24, 1959, Jim married the love of his life, Betty Spears. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service, and would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on January 24, 2026. To this union were born three children: Brenda Cox (Calvin), Byron Stine (Sherrie), and Stephanie Stine (Rick).

Jim graduated from Hurley High School in 1955 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years. His life was marked by a deep commitment to his faith and community. He was ordained as a deacon at Buck Prairie Baptist Church and continued serving as a deacon at First Baptist Church Clever after the family moved to Clever.

Jim dedicated many years to public service, serving on the Clever School Board, the Missouri Milk Board for nine years, the Missouri Farm Bureau for eighteen years, and the Ozark Electric Board. His steady leadership and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on those he served alongside.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jewell Stine, and his brother, Jerry Stine.

Jim is survived by his wife; children; sister, Judith Ann Stine Dotson (Jule); sister-in-law, Margo Stine; a niece and nephews; three grandchildren (Amber Roach, Ashley Terrey and Chelsea Satterlee); and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Clever – Finish in Faith Building Fund. A visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m., both at First Baptist Church of Clever.

Private family burial will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
