It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of James "Jimmy" Harvey Stokley, Sr. on 21 Nov 2023, a beloved 94-year-old father, veteran, skilled gardener, and patriarch to many. He touched the lives of so many and will be dearly missed.
Early Years:
Born on 27 March, 1929 in Silas, Alabama, Jimmy grew up In Silas and moved his family to Pasadena, Tx in 1968.
Military Service:
A proud veteran, Jimmy Stokley served in the United States Marine Corps, during which he served on the U.S. White House Guard. His commitment to duty and outstanding military service exemplified unwavering courage, selflessness, and a steadfast dedication to preserving the values we hold dear
Family Life:
Jimmy Stokley was a loving father to Harvey Richard "Rick" Stokley, James "BigJim" Harvey Stokley, Jr and wife Pam, Daniel Corby Stokley and wife Mary Quinn Rozkydal, Quintin Andrew Stokley and wife Linda, Raymond Wesley Stokley, Cynthia Kathleen "Kathy" Stokley Head and husband Rene', David Lamar Stokley, Sr. and wife Yvonne. He was a cherished Papaw to Paula Stokley Hunt, Michelle Stokley, William "Billy" Stokley, Jimmy Stokley, Tyler Stokley, Anthony "Tony" Stokley, Michael Stokley, Mark Stokley, Stephen Stokley, John Stokley, Heather Stokley, Elizabeth Stokley, Abigail Stokley, Lily Stokley, Lindsay Stokley, Richard Stokley, Ryan Stokley, Jessica Stokley, Ross Powers, Kelly Head, David Stokley Jr., and Kristen Stokley, as well as numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins. Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Bergman Stokley of Corrigan, Tx, brothers, Milton Stokley, Horace Stokley, Corbett Stokley, Clayton Stokley, Stova Stokley, Lamar Stokley and Minnie Jean "Sister", his parents, Willie Richard and Nellie Swan Stokley and granddaughter LaDonnica Stokley.

A memorial service to celebrate Jimmy Stokley's life will be held on Saturday, 25 November. Visitation at 10:30am and Service at Noon, to be held at First Moscow Baptist Church, 13994 N Old Hwy 35 Rd, Moscow, TX 75960.
