Marcus was born January 22, 1959, in Conroe, Texas and passed away October 8, 2025, in Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Lafate Witherspoon and Mattie Marie (May) Witherspoon; first wife, MaryAnn Witherspoon; daughter, Ina Jo Reider; and grandson, Tuff Welker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Witherspoon; son, Michael Reider and wife Penny; daughter, Brandy Welker and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Hannah Calame and Sherman, Zackary Reider, Megan Smith and Zachary, Brittney Marlow, Payton Hamilton and Clint, and Marcus Welker; great grandchildren, Thomas R. Calame, Ryelynn Smith, Braiden Hunter, Braileigh Hunter, Ellie Kate Welker, Hollynd Welker, Harlen Welker, Harvey Welker, Hoyt Hamilton, and Lainey Pate Hamilton; bonus son, Braxton Marceaux and Reba; bonus daughter, Whitney Marceaux and James Sargent; bonus grandchildren, Archer, Brody, and Cass; brother, James Witherspoon and wife Suzanne; sister, Eva Anstee and husband Scott; and brother, Ronnie Witherspoon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
