Mr. James Earl Stone, age 78, a resident of Pelahatchie, MS passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at his home in the Crossroads Community. James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was known as “Bud or Jim” to close friends and family. He was born on November 3, 1946, in Gouverneur, NY to Alfred Earl Stone and Helen May Stone. He has lived in Pelahatchie, MS since 1989. James spent his younger life working on a dairy farm and doing construction work. He eventually made a career of being a commercial truck driver. James retired as the owner/operator of Stone Trucking in 2013.

James married Charlotte Ann Stone on June 3rd, 1989. They were married for 35 years and had one daughter. James had twoadditional children, one son and one daughter. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Stone (Hall) of Pelahatchie, MS; his son James Michael (Sylvia) Stone of Pelahatchie, MS; his daughter Debra Ann (Kevin) Neuman of Ninety Six, SC; and their daughter Ashley Nicole (Michael) Jones of Forest, MS; and his grandchildren: Amanda, Kyle, Harley, Latoriana, Kyliana, and Madelyn. He is also survived by seven siblings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Earl and Helen May Stone; and his sister Terry Bacola (Stone).

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Neuman, Kyle Neuman, Scott Bacola, Jason Ballard, Chris Bryant, and Randal Bragg.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home. His Funeral will be Wednesday at 11;00am in the chapel. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery.
