James Elmer Story, born on April 30, 1944, in Humphreys County, passed away on October 9, 2025, at Jackson General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Russell Story and Beulah Mae Hooper Story, and his daughter, Lisa Annette Story.
James is survived by his wife, Frances, and his children: James Harold Story of Kingwood, Texas; Mark Anthony Story of Memphis, Tennessee; Tammy Michelle Story and Terry Lynn Story, both of Jackson, Tennessee. He adored his grandchildren—Mackenzie, Hunter, Jack, Taylor, Jacob, Nicholas, Dalton, and Kaden—and was immensely proud of them.
James dedicated 24 years of service to the City of Camden before running his own business. He had a passion for attending auctions and turning forgotten items into treasures. He loved his children deeply and took great pride in his family’s accomplishments.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at 12:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors in Jackson, Tennessee, on Thursday October 16th. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00AM until service time.
