James Malford Street, 72, of Hollandale, MS, put up a valiant fight, but lost his battle with Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Sharkey Issaquena Nursing Home. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, October 21, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville, with the service to follow at 6:00 p.m.

James was born to Mary June and Carl Ray Street, Sr., on September 18, 1953, in Horn Lake, MS. His Father worked on the towboats, so as a child, they lived up and down the Mississippi River from south Louisiana all the way to Memphis. They finally settled in Leland, MS. He graduated from Leland High School and went on to hold several jobs in route sales with Broadway Linen Co., to Pepsi. He eventually found his calling in industrial maintenance. He worked at several facilities around the Delta, including Comet Rice, Fruit of the Loom, Vlasic Pickle, and DKI Industries. While working for DKI, he assisted in refurbishing and maintaining the 1901 Armitage Herschell Carousel located inside the EE Bass Center. There wasn't much that was broken that he couldn't tinker with and fix. He loved listening to music, and in the end, it was music that calmed and soothed him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dana Scott Street, and his sister, Helen Street Cefalu.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Frankie) Street of Leland, and Brian (Michelle) Street of Greenville; 3 granddaughters, Mary-Elizabeth Street, Addison Smith, and Maritt Street. His Brother, Carl Street Jr., and his longtime companion, Rose Alexander.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association or your choice of another charitable organization.
