Funeral Mass for Stella Anne Bernardi Signa, 89, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Stella was born March 7, 1936, in Shaw, Mississippi, to Lena Ferretti Bernardi and Americo Bernardi. Stella graduated from Shaw High School and was active in sports, particularly basketball. After high school, she worked at Baxter Laboratories in Cleveland, Mississippi.

On January 10, 1959, Stella met the love of her life, Leonard F. Signa, Sr., and they married on July 25, 1959. After a brief move to Chicago, Illinois, where Stella worked for Underwriters Laboratories, Stella and Leonard returned to Greenville, Mississippi, where they raised their family of seven children.

Stella and her husband, Leonard, were active lifelong members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Stella was devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. She was involved in numerous ministries, including taking the Holy Eucharist to the homebound, hosting bible studies, helping at the St. Joseph Parish Fair, making crafts with St. Ann's Sewing Circle, and baking cakes for weddings, birthdays, and many church events. Stella also gave of her time as a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School where she served as a substitute teacher. She also lovingly cared for many children as a childcare provider in the Signa home, serving Greenville-area families for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard F. Signa, Sr., brother, John Bernardi (Frances), and three sisters, Louise Bassi (Albert), Vallie Reginelli (Robert), and Amelia Loughner (Fred). She is survived by children: Phyllis Signa Duvall (Robert) of Alpharetta, GA, Leonard F. Signa, Jr. of Cumming, GA, Marjorie Signa Hamilton of Fairhope, Alabama, Frances Signa Wells (Bobby) of Nixa, MO, Vincent Signa (Wendy) of Elgin, SC, Howard Signa (Pam) of Greenville, MS, and John Signa (Kerie) of Collierville, TN, and sister in law, Marilyn Signa England (Alan). She has 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or school.
