James L. Summers Sr., 70, of Almyra left to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Ann Summers; his parents, Vernon and Ouida Summers; siblings, Leon Summers and Steve Summers; and daughter, Tammy Summers.
He leaves behind two children, James L. Summers Jr. (Sarah) of Almyra and Brandy Garner (Dietrich) of North Little Rock; two sisters, Yvonne Summers of Stuttgart and Vicki Phillips (Kenneth) of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Tyler Summers (Abby) of Humphrey, Madison Simpson (Spencer) of Almyra and Madison Holland of Stuttgart; and two adorable great-grandchildren, Eli and Maisie Summers.
His passion was traveling with his wife and grandkids. He loved going to New Mexico and Colorado, being out in nature and hunting and fishing. He also loved being around family and friends, standing up and leaning on the gator out in the shop with the fire going. He also started his own business by being the best welder there was for over 20 years.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to Humnoke Pentecostal Church.
