James(Jim) A. Swope,71, of Akron, Ohio passed away on June 15, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. 

Jim loved spending time with family, camping, and park patrol. He retired from Akron Steel. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, David and June Swope. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lora (Rusty) Swope; children, Jamie (Chad) Lebold, Julie Swope, Bradley (Dawn) Swope, as well as six grandchildren, Nick (Alayna) Cortel, Brandon Swope-Casper, Kenton Duty, Dylan Lebold, Kamryn Duty, and Natalie Swope; brother, David B. (Debra) Swope, and sisters, Karen (Jerry) Heckathorn, and Tammy Swope. 

There will be no services. If you would like to reach out to the family, feel free anytime.
