It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Furman Teal. Mr. Teal passed away January 25, 2026 at the age of 55.
James was born in Darlington County. He was the son of the late Furman Lee and the late Ester Hopkins Teal. Mr. Teal worked various odd jobs through his life, including truck driving, carpentry and welding. He was retired from North Industrial.
He leaves behind his companion of 21 years, Lynn Ferrell; two sons, Mitchell (Kendra) Teal and Michael Teal all of Pine Ridge; grandchildren, Sabrina, Avery, Gio, and Liam Teal; sisters Cynthia Riley and Victoria Dixon of Patrick and Kendra King of Hartsville. Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister Joyce Issiac.
A family led Memorial Service will be held Saturday February 7 at 2:00 pm at the Gum Branch Baptist Church 1504 Clyde Road, Hartsville, S.C. Pastor Scott Keith will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
