Mr. James Charles Teasley, age 65 of Lavonia, Ga., passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

He was born on February 2, 1958 in Goldmine, GA to the late Amos Teasley and Girlene Drinkard Teasley. He attended Truth of the Word Church where he served as a deacon and choir member. He was a member of the gospel group, the Gospel Messengers, for 33 years. He was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and attended all sporting events at Franklin County High School. He enjoyed working in landscape, cooking, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Teasley; his sisters, Nell Teasley Blackwell and Blondene Teasley; and his granddaughter, Chinasa Teasley.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Rhonda (Kenneth) Toney of Montgomery, AL, Ashleigh (Derrick) Eaves of Toccoa, GA, Christopher (Tiffany) Burns of Hartwell, GA, and Jamyiah Teasley of Lavonia, GA; brothers, Ulysses Teasley and Kenneth Teasley; sister Brenda Heard; grandchildren Kevin-Christopher Curry and Kaleb Teasley, Christopher (C.J.) Burns, and Za'Kerra Burns, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00AM at Christian Worship Assembly, 3874 Royston Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street, Hartwell, GA 30643. The family will receive friends at the home located at 10941 Hwy 59,Lavonia, GA 30553 from 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday, October 9 2023.
