Idell G. Teasley

Mrs. Idell G. Teasley, age 84, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Mrs. Teasley was born on February 11, 1941, in Gilmer County, Georgia, to the late Ross Garrett and Kitty Margaret Ray. A devoted member of Northcutt Baptist Church, she found great comfort and fellowship in her faith and church family.

Idell dedicated many years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant with North Georgia Medical Center, where she was known for her compassionate spirit and genuine care for others. Above all, she deeply cherished her family and held them close to her heart.

Her kindness, faith, and loving nature will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Idell is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin D. Teasley; son, Lanny Teasley; brothers, Paul Garrett, Robert Garret, and Edward Garrett; sister, Sarah Roper.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, Lee (Janet) Teasley, Lance (Rhonda) Teasley; daughter and son in-law, Lynn (Jim) Bixby; 8 grandchildren, Mary Saunders, April Evitts, Shaun Kilgore, Josh Teasley, Brett Teasley, Mackenzie Teasley, Didi Bixby and Brittany Bixby; 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 11th at 11 am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Emuel Sanford officiating. Interment will follow in the Northcutt Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers, Lee Teasley, Lance Teasley, Dylan Bramlett, Joseph Saunders, O.C. Garcia, Jim Bixby and Allen White.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 10th from 3 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
