Ms. Dorothy Sharon Totherow Dooley, age 85 of
Perry, FL, formally of
Ellijay, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7th, 2026.
Ms. Dooley was born on June 7th, 1940 in
Ellijay, GA to the late Grady Totherow and the late Thelma Holloway Totherow. She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church in Ellijay, where her faith was an important part of her life. For more than 30 years, she proudly owned and operated Magic Touch Hair Salon, serving many families and forming friendships that extended far beyond the salon chair. She was a true people person who enjoyed listening, laughing, and making others feel welcome.
She was an enthusiastic Georgia Bulldogs football fan and loved cheering on her team each season. She found peace and happiness in the outdoors, especially while fishing and scalloping, planting and tending to her flowers, and taking long walks. A world traveler at heart, she embraced new experiences and cherished the memories she made along the way. Her love for life, family, and community will be remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. Orman "Straw" Strawbridge and Mr. George "Tom" Dooley; son, James "Slugger" Strawbridge; three brothers, Reed Totherow, Ray Totherow, and Kenneth Totherow; two sisters, Marlene Hensley and Madelin Henderson, and son-in-law, Kelly Robertson.
Sharon is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Pam Robertson of Possum Kingdom, TX and Debra (David) Dickenson of
Marietta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas (Josie) Totherow of
Point, TX; sister, Louise Arthur of
Point, TX; half brothers; Ike Totherow and Mike Totherow; half-sisters, Trudy, Darlene, and Carol; daughter-in-law, Beth Strawbridge of
Ellijay, GA; nine grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Worley, Mary Dickenson, Elisha (Troy) Roberson, Beth Kyle, Leah (Rich) Webster, Chris (Tiffany) Robertson, Justin (Julia) Robertson, Megan O'Neal, and Haley Strawbridge; numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Service to honor the life of Ms. Dooley will be held on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Arnold officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Steve Totherow, David Totherow, Thomas Totherow, Troy Roberson, Rich Webster, Jim Hensley, and Alan Henderson.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m.
The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
American Cancer Society in memory of Ms. Sharon Dooley.
