James Earl Terry, also known as JT, was born on March 15, 1956, to the late Morris and Hennie Terry in Spearsville, Louisiana. From humble beginnings in a close-knit family of eleven siblings, James lived a life marked by unwavering love, resilience, and faith.

James met the love of his life, Karla Terry, and they were united in marriage on November 23, 1985. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two beloved sons, Casey and Austin Terry. As a devoted husband and father, James's greatest joy came from his family. He took pride in their accomplishments, supported them unconditionally, and cherished every moment shared.

He was a man of many passions-a dedicated sportsman, a loyal and lifelong Chicago Bears fan, and a role model to many. Known for his quiet strength, humility, and generous spirit, James left an indelible impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His laughter was genuine, his mentorship heartfelt, and his presence uplifting.

Education held great importance in James's life. From his early roots in Spearsville, he went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree with high honors from Grambling State University, followed by a Master's Degree from North Park University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a distinguished professional career.

James's work ethic and leadership were evident throughout his career. He held respected roles at Allstate, Harris Bank, Chase Bank, and William Everett Consulting Firm. Later, he proudly operated a Subway franchise, becoming a trusted presence in his community and providing opportunities for others. In every role he served, James was admired for his integrity, professionalism, and wisdom.

On August 10, 2025, James Earl Terry gained his heavenly wings. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life so richly lived and a legacy rooted in love, family, and faith.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Karla Terry; his sons, Casey and Austin Terry; and his siblings: Louis (Ann) Terry, Willie (Merita) Terry, John (Joanne) Terry, and Brenda Payne. He is also remembered by in-laws Mary Terry, Anthony Moore (also known as Jose), and Ronetta Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Hennie Terry, and siblings George Terry, Morris Terry Jr. (Nickie), Ernest Terry, Theordis Terry, Roy Terry, Ray Terry, and Gwendolyn Moore (Katie).

James had a deep and abiding love for all of his extended family. He leaves behind a host of relatives, friends, coworkers, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
