Funeral services for James Darren Thomaston, age 60, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dan Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Veal Methodist Church Cemetery in Roopville, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Mr. Thomaston passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his sister's residence.

Survivors include: one sister, Teresa Sudduth (Mickey) of Roanoke; two brothers, Mike Thomaston (Judy) of Hogansville, GA, and Larry Keller of Charlotte, NC; nieces and nephews, Toni Perez, Jarett Spivey (Amber), Delaina Nunn, Tracy Loiacano, Jeremy Keller, and Greg Keller; great-nieces and nephews, Brayden Sudduth, Kaylee Perez, Jeremiah Autrey, Blakeleigh Spivey, and Alexa Perez; and special friends, Patt Kerr, Jackie Hammens, Tasha Johnson, and Diane Tarver.

Pallbearers will be Jarrett Spivey, Jeremiah Autrey, Adam Watson, Riley Green, Craig Davidson, and Wayne Workman.

A Georgia native, Mr. Thomaston was born on September 13, 1965, the son of Jimmy Lee and Sara Jane Evans Thomaston. He graduated from Wadley High School in 1985 and attended Community Life Church. Mr. Thomaston loved watching Alabama football, traveling, watching Wadley football, and being with friends and family. He was always the life of the party and always had a great time wherever he went. His great-nieces and nephews were his world and he loved being anywhere doing anything with them. Mr. Thomaston was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a brother, Jerry Keller; and a sister, Sylvia Thomaston.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
