James Randall Thompson, age 69, of Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025. He was born in Cincinnati on November 22, 1955, to the late William and Sharlene Thompson (nee Duncan).
James was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He was a proud Army veteran and known for his speaking what was on his mind.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Sharlene Thompson; his beloved daughter, Tabitha Thompson; grandchildren, Austin Miller; and siblings, William Thompson Jr., Roberta Thompson, and John Thompson.
James is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Garry Sexton) Thompson; grandchildren, Chris (Tyeshia Ransby) Finley, Savannah (Jeffrey Clark) Partin, Kaylee (Brennan Koontz) Thompson, Cody (Aaliyah Moore) Sexton, Jade Miller, Kyle Sexton, Aliciah Gonzales; as well as great-grandchildren, Darcy, Skylar, Melody, Aviannah, Alonzo, Grayson, Mason; and long-time companion, Betty Thompson. He will also be remembered fondly by a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.
In loving memory of James, contributions may be made to Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025, with a visitation preceding it from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227.
