Mr. James R. Treash, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully 2:15 p.m. Thursday May 26, 2022 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
James Ronald Treash was born on October 25, 1936 to parent's Walter Alden Treash and Nanie Rosetta Aker in Bloomington, Illinois. James "Jim" was the ninth of nine siblings. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Harold, Erma, Gerald, Della, and Donald and one great grandson Noel.
Jim is survived by his sisters Violet, Alice and June all of Bloomington, Illinois. Jim is also survived by his sons Daniel and Walter and their families. Daniel and his wife Rola of Alamo, Texas and Walter and his husband Troy of Houston, Texas. Along with his sons are his grandchildren Christopher, Steven, Nadine Quaddoumi, Brandon, Michael, and great grandson Liam.
Jim was a graduate of Bloomington High School and Illinois State University where he earned a Masters of Business Administration. He started as a professor at Carl Sandburg College before it had buildings serving at Sandburg over 30 years.
Jim married three women Mary Ann Zimmermann, Sandy Leonard, and Linda Luvdahl. He remained single the last 30 years of his life and found a community at The Kensington these last few years.
Jim was a long-time member and supporter of First Baptist, Galesburg. He loved Kiwanis, all sports especially the Cubs, TV westerns in B/W or color, clowns, crosswords and his collection of ceramic lighthouses.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday May 31, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Galesburg. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. at the Church. Cremation will be accorded following service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Father Flanagan's Boy's Town Nebraska. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.h-p-w.com
