James F. Trimble Sr., 88, of Amherst, Ohio and formerly of Sheffield Township passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024. Born on May 19, 1936 in Lorain, Jim lived a life characterized by hard work and deep love for his family.
A graduate of Clearview High School, Jim began carpet installation at the age of 18 and would continue to work professionally in that field for 55 years, a good portion of which was a private business owner due to his exceptional skill and commitment to quality.
Jim was also a long-time member of the Lorain County Sheriff's Auxiliary, where he served his community with pride.
Jim loved to travel whether for sheer pleasure, Alaska and Switzerland Cruises or wherever his family needed a helping hand.
We can't leave out his love for lighthouses, especially our very own Lorain Lighthouse.
A true sports enthusiast, Jim was an avid supporter of all the local teams, cheering on the Browns, Guardians, Cavaliers, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Fearless of heights and ladders brought about a string of slings, cast, and hospitalizations. It may have slowed him some, but Jim found a way to get around with his handmade, crooked walking stick, which he used to propel him to keep doing what he had always done Work Hard!
Jim is survived by his wife, Marlene (nee Slaby); his daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Wall; son, James (Karen) Trimble Jr.; stepsons, Joseph and Darren Morales; grandchildren, Sara Wall, Alec and Connor Trimble; step-grandchildren, Leif, Joseph, Alex, Alyssa and Gabrielle; sister, Judy Shann; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara (nee Bednarik); grandson, Logan Wall; siblings, June Wearsch, Richard and William Trimble; and his parents, George and Gladys Trimble.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, Gathering Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in Jim's memory to the Arbor Day Foundation or to Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dovinreberjones.com

I meet Jim and his first wife Sara when our children were in school. My husband and I had great respect for Jim and Sara. We had much fun with them through the years our kids were in school.
I send my deepest sympathy to his family. Rest in Peace Jim
