Devin Nicole Jarvis, 36, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 18, 2025, under the compassionate care of New Life Hospice, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Painesville, Ohio, on October 13, 1988, Devin was a 2007 graduate of North Ridgeville High School. She continued her education at the University of Toledo, earning her undergraduate degree in 2010, and went on to achieve her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University in 2013.
Devin found her calling in serving others through her work as a physical therapist with Sprenger Nursing Homes. She had a particular passion for helping patients with Parkinson's Disease, dedicating herself to advanced training and certification that allowed her to teach and advocate on behalf of those living with the condition. Her dedication was honored in 2020 when she received the Parkinson's Foundation Great Lakes Hero Award.
Despite facing her own health challenges, Devin bravely shared her journey with cancer in hopes of offering strength and inspiration to others. Her openness and honesty left a lasting impact on those who knew her and many she never met.
Devin's greatest joy was her family. Her husband and two sons were the light of her life. She found happiness in the little and big moments-traveling, hiking, camping, attending concerts, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns. She lived with purpose, love, and a heart full of grace.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Ryan Jarvis; and their cherished sons, Brody and Baylor Jarvis. Also surviving are her mother, Lisa (Brian Baraga); father, Jeffrey (Sadie Theisler) Ballard; brothers, Brendan (Kristina) Ballard, Cody (Daphne) Cutter, and Jacob Cutter; sister, Mackenzie (A.J.) Ballard; half-sisters, Lauren and Leigh; stepmother, Lisa Ballard; sister-in-law, Courtney (Ryan) Rua; father- and mother-in-law, Randy and Linda Jarvis; grandparents, Frank and Margie Peto, and Sherry Ballard; grandmother-in-law, Dolores Cole; grandfather-in-law, Gary Jarvis; and many other loving family members and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held at the funeral center on Friday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Amherst Eagles immediately after.
In honor of Devin's legacy, contributions may be made to her family for the future of her beloved sons. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.dovinreberjones.com.
Devin will be remembered for her strength, her compassion, and the unwavering love she gave to all who knew her.

Our family met Devin years ago and we had crossed paths with her several times after that. She made a lasting impression on us. Our daughter, who has special needs, was obsessed with her, she kept telling us that she was like princess Jasmine( my daughter´s favorite) Devin ALWAYS went out of her way to talk to our daughter, not because my daughter thought she was a princess but because that´s just who Devin was, kind, caring, loving and truly cared about other´s feelings and well being. There were so many other people she could have talked to, but she always put other's needs before her own. I think the last time we saw her she was pregnant with Brody. When I told my daughter that Devin went to heaven her immediate response was, " mom I really loved her, she was nice to me" Rest easy, beautiful, kind and loving Devin
