Frank Edward Jakubec, 78, of Brimfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at Louis Stokes VA hospital in Cleveland. Born on October 4, 1946, in Cleveland to Edward and Emily Jakubec (nee Vosicky) Frank lived a full and spirited life defined by service, family, and friendship.

Frank was a proud graduate of John Adams High School and Cleveland State University, where he went on to earn his MBA in accounting. A Marine Corps veteran, he served his country with honor as a Corporal during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Frank built a career as a CFO and owner of a manufacturing company in Kentucky.

He will be remembered as a jovial, light-hearted, and positive man who had a gift for making everyone feel like somebody. Frank loved golf, sudoku puzzles, cheering on Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes, and staying connected through fantasy football leagues with his family and friends. His zest for life shone through in his love of good times, good drink, and good company.

Frank was a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and held deep pride in the camaraderie and shared purpose of his fellow veterans.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Lynn Thorsson Jakubec (nee Owens), his daughter Amanda Malinowski (Brock); grandchildren Brooklyn, Briella, and Bryce; step son William Thorsson, his brother, Dale Jakubec (Cheryl); nephews, Gregory (Elizabeth), William (Theresa), Scott (Jaclyn), Todd (Christina) and great uncle to nieces and nephews to Kiley, Evan, Kara, Carter, and Devin; cousins Frank Vosicky (Susan), Francee Morse (Timothy), and Fay Vosicky; Sister in law Patti Dominguez (Ralph) ; Uncle to Julie Hecht (Christopher) and Lisa Dominguez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Emily Jakubec, step father, James Hawkins, step son, Robert Thorsson and niece, Christine Scott. Frank's legacy of kindness and joy will live on through his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Private internment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Honor Flight Cleveland, PO Box 119, Elyria, Ohio 44036, or to the Wounded Warrior Project in Frank's memory.
