James D. Tschannen, age 95, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care, in Osage Beach, Missouri.
He was born on September 13, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, son of Bruno and Ida (Beuchel) Tschannen.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life Betty Risz, when she was 19 years old. They shared 51 years together at the time of her passing in 2001.
James' worked as a chemist for Monsanto. He loved sports, especially football, basketball, and golf. He also enjoyed playing a good game of racket ball. James enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed to go fishing. It was said that James could bake the best apple pie around. He loved to tell a good story that would always end in laughter. James loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
James is survived by his daughter Cheryl Chelist (Bruce); his grandchildren Christine Peer (Matt), Daniel Moellering (Chelsey), Stacey Moellering (Steve Giesbrecht), James H. Tschannen III, and Maria Jones (Jairo); his great-grandchildren Taylor Peer, Nolan Moellering, Lucas Flaherty, and Wesley Giesbrecht; and many other relatives and friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife Betty Tschannen and two sons James and Stephen Tschannen.
Celebration of Life services will be held in St. Louis, Missouri in the Spring of 2024.
