James Wade Duncan, 78, of Riegelwood, NC died October 28, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 18, 1943 in Columbus County, NC to the late Woodrow Duncan and Laura Grice Duncan. He was preceded in death by a son, James Scott Duncan,a brother, Edward Duncan.,and a step-mother, Cecil Duncan.
James proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a former member of the Acme-Delco Fire and Rescue serving as Chief as well as the Riegelwood Dixie Youth. He worked at International Paper for over 30 years as a Millwright. He was a member of Riegelwood Baptist Church where he served with the Baptist Men and the Baptist Men's Ramp Building Group. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Smith Duncan; daughters Renee Long Renard (Jay) and Angela Long Fowler (Larry), both of Riegelwood, NC; son, Robert Allmon Long, Jr. of Riegelwood, NC a sister, Betty Duncan Turnage; Two Granddaughters and Four Grandsons; Two Great-granddaughters and One Great-grandson.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Riegelwood Baptist Church, 103 NC-87, Riegelwood, NC 28456. with Rev. Charles Hester and Cameron Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
