James Henry Walsh, Jr.
James “Jimmy” Henry Walsh, Jr., 63, died March 26, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Walsh was born in Red Bank, New Jersey on March 7, 1961 to James & Ellen Walsh after growing up in Middletown, New Jersey and living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He moved to Fort Pierce almost 20 years ago.
Jimmy was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a Navy Hospital Corpsman and was for a period of time was stationed for private duty on the U.S.S. Reuben James, and from that point on was best buddies with Navy friend, Dave Newbold. He played with the Baltimore Orioles farm system. During his time living in Myrtle Beach, he was a professional chef and owned 3 bars in Myrtle Beach. In Fort Pierce, he owned and operated “Jim Yum’s”, a popular local lunch delivery restaurant. Always being the one to have his hands in multiple service-oriented businesses, he owned and operated “Jimmy Walsh’s Trips & Cruises” to help others enjoy travel as much as he did. Among his many undertakings, he also became a wine distributor for a while. Jimmy played baseball on various leagues throughout his life. He had always been an avid baseball fan and could tell you all the stats and history of baseball players like he knew them personally. He always had to be the best at everything he did. He loved traveling, going on cruises, but most of all his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Palumbo of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Kendall Corkum of South Carolina; and sisters, Liz Walsh of Union Beach, NJ and Kathy Mathews of Fort Pierce, FL.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
