James Wampler Obituary

James Robert Wampler, 65, a Main Street Brockway resident, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born on Dec. 24, 1959 in Damascus, Maryland, he was the son of the late Robert B. and Norma Jean Burley Wampler. He was married to Andrea Martino on August 23, 2010 and she survives. Jim was a graduate of the University of Central Florida where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Retired, he had been employed by the National Security Agency at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland for over 30 years. He was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. Jim was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and more locally the Brockway Handgunners. Part of his association with these organizations was his love for collecting and shooting firearms. He also was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by numerous cousins.

There will be no public visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 6 at noon at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Fr. John Detisch presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the NRA Foundation at nrafoundation.org or Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org. The Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. of Brockway is handling the arrangements.
