James Victor Ward ("Jim"), age 70, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed into eternal life on November 3, 2021, following a sudden heart attack.
On September 30, 1951, Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and adopted by his parents Jack & Bernice Ward. The family lived in the small, rural town of Powell, Ohio, where Jim grew up. He attended Olentangy High School and graduated in 1971. Jim had a rewarding career in auto sales and enjoyed his work life tremendously. For 20+ years he was the co-owner of Thompson and Ward Leasing Company in Grandview, Ohio. He retired to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he enjoyed playing golf and his job as an ambassador of the Lakewood Camping Resort. He worked diligently to provide a wonderful life for his family.
Jim was a passionate person - fully committed to everything he chose to pursue. He married Patricia Ward in 1976. His children, Jamie & Jameson, and five grandchildren, Callie, Ella, Jackson, Gunnar, and Alexa, were very dear to him. He had a contagious and friendly personality, maintaining many close friendships in both Ohio and South Carolina. Those of us left behind will never forget his laughter and bright blue eyes.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Jack E. Ward, Bernice R. Ward (nee Anderson), and wife, Patricia A. Ward (nee Brown.). He is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Steve) Spittle (nee Ward); son, Jameson Ward; and five grandchildren, Callie Spittle, Ella Spittle, Jackson ("Jack") Spittle, Gunnar Ward, and Alexa Ward.
In place of flowers, please send donations in memory of Jim to Lakewood Campground Ministry, Chaplain George Koon 5901 South Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29575.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL 450 W.
