James BoShannon Ward, age 38 of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. James was born August 1, 1987. He was preceded in death by his father Kyle Thomas Ward; paternal grandparents Don and Loanne Keaton; maternal grandfather James Ball; and step grandfather Leon Boyd. James was an affectionate person who loved kids and animals. He would do anything for anybody without question. James was also a jokester and could always light up any room with his quick wit and contagious personality.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather Betty and Frank Blackstock; sister Kylie Kelly; Grandmother Pamela Ball Boyd; numerous other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, his family asked that donations be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Saturday from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel with Pastors Allen Cogar and Bob Yates officiating. Entombment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends 10-11 am Saturday morning before the service at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Dr., Rocky Mount, VA 24151
