James "Jim" Raymond Waters, 74, of Louisville, Ohio, passed away on September 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.

Jim honorably served his country for eight years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, stationed in Turkey, Belgium, South Korea, and Germany. After his military service, he built a long career in the computer and information industry.

Beyond his work, Jim enjoyed life's simpler pleasures. He found joy in backyard barbecues, relaxing afternoons with family and friends, watching and cheering for Sunday football games, and taking long drives. He especially enjoyed holiday meals prepared by his son and celebrating Halloween with his grandson.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Waters, and his brother, Robert "Bob" Waters.

He is survived by his son, James Waters II; daughter-in-law, Joy Raub; and grandson, Samuel Raub. He also leaves behind his brother, George Waters, and his sister, Jody Dryden; brother-in-law, Gary Dryden; and niece, Sami Dryden.

A memorial service will be held on September 24 from 6–8 p.m. at Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home, 2257 Mahoning Rd NE, Canton, OH 44705. A committal service with military honors will follow on September 25 at 10:15 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273.
