Mr. James R. "Red" Weaver, aged 79, sadly passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Atmore, Alabama. Originally from McDavid, Florida, he spent most of his life in Poarch, Alabama. Red was known for his strong faith and was a devoted member of the Friendly Holiness Church, where he found community and support throughout his years. His kind spirit and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him.
He loved spending his days squirrel hunting and fishing, always eager to spend time outdoors. Planting a garden brought him joy, especially when he could share fresh vegetables with family at gatherings. Traveling to Michigan with his wife to visit relatives was a cherished adventure, filled with laughter and memories. He was a big fan of Alabama football and enjoyed relaxing while watching westerns, which reminded him of simpler times. BBQing with family was one of his favorite pastimes, filling the air with delicious smells and happy chatter. After many years working as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the oilfield, he found fulfillment in both his work and the love of his family.
Mr. Weaver is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Jane Davis Weaver; wife, Charlene Weaver; son, Jeffrey Lynn Weaver, numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Daniel (Tracy) Weaver of Atmore, Alabama; daughters, Frankie Morris and Shane Haskew of Poarch, Alabama; Christine Warren of Clarksville, Tennessee; sister, Charlotte (Ted) Toop of Molino, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
