James Edward White, age 89, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025.
James was born on August 26, 1936, in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, to Homer and Ida White, and was raised in Arnoldsville near Athens. He worked on his family’s farm until he graduated from Oglethorpe County High School. He later built a 35-year career with Coca-Cola in Atlanta.
James was a follower of Christ and a member of First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Georgia. He was devoted to his wife and known for his generous heart, energy, and fun-loving spirit. He found great joy in gardening and spending time outdoors, and he especially enjoyed cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and following NASCAR.
He is survived by his sons Jimmy White; John White and his wife, Margaret; and Jeff White and his wife, Trina; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his brothers Cecil White and Charles White. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ida White; his wife, Faye White; and his son, Jere White.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Athens Memory Gardens 5195 Lexington Rd.; Athens, GA 30605
