Jerry White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes - Serenity Gardens Chapel on Mar. 11, 2026.
Jerry Elden White, 53, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Lakeland, FL. Jerry was born on September 13, 1972, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Jessica and Courtney White. Jerry spent his childhood in several locations but was most fond of Titusville and its fishing spots.

As an adult, Jerry was a selfless and hard worker. He spent many years working as an auto technician and later as a professional truck driver. Jerry also cultivated many passions and hobbies throughout his life. He was a true autodidact with encyclopedic knowledge of sharks, fishing, cinema, and football.

Jerry's life is a testament to what it means to love unconditionally. On October 27, 2001, Jerry married Angela Askew Cook. When he married Angela, he not only took on a lifelong partner, he took on three daughters all in very different stages of life. This didn't always prove to be an easy endeavor, but Jerry's love and commitment to his family never wavered. To many family members and friends, Jerry was known as a gentle giant. His big heart and soft touch belied an imposing 6'4 frame. Kids gravitated towards Jerry's playful nature, and babies loved napping in his cozy arms.

Always putting others first, Jerry rarely complained and asked very little for himself. This remained true even as Jerry faced significant health challenges in his last years. Jerry leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Angela White; his stepdaughters, Rachel Bullock (Beau), Jamie Pryor (Clark), and Olivia Prieto (Carlos); 7 grandchildren, Brooks, Wiley, and Vivian Bullock, Mason and Merrick Pryor, and Owen and Elena Prieto; his aunt, Sue White; cousins, Greg and Amanda Hindle; and several extended family members.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, 12pm, at the Kirby Center, Bonnet Springs Park, Lakeland, FL. Friends and family are invited to join to share memories and condolences. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
