James Allen Wiley, III, 85, of Columbia, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 21, 1940, he was a son of the late James Allen Wiley, Jr. and Ruth Judd Wiley. Mr. Wiley was employed in sales by Koppers for many years. Through a job transfer of his wife, Jane, they relocated to Columbia, SC and enjoyed many years in the Northeast area. He served honorably in the US Air Force as a Radar Officer and was stationed at one point in his service in Japan as a Advisor to the Japanese Military. Spare time was spent golfing, watching golf or pro and college football. He was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel with his wife and together they went to numerous places including New Zealand three times and twice to South Africa.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Jane Neutzler Wiley; and their beloved Cat, Megan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life for Mr. Wiley will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd, from 3 until 4:30 at the Wildewood Downs Clubhouse, 731 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

Memorials may be made to the Oliver Gospel Mission, 1100 Taylor St, Columbia, SC 29201.
