During his 20 years in the Ravenna area, he served as a volunteer firefighter, participated actively in the VFW, and was a dedicated AAA sponsor. He was also a committed member of the NRA. In his free time, Tex enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the peaceful rewards of country living.
