James T. Williams, 92, born in Eleanor, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025 surrounded by family who loved and cared for him deeply.

James was preceded in death by his father; James C. Williams; mother, Ruby Newton; and stepson, Joseph P. Webb.

Born on July 3, 1933, James was a proud Floridian and a man of great intellect and dedication. He graduated from Florida State University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science in History from the College of Arts and Sciences, earning the highest academic honors in his class. His passion for history carried into his personal life, where he became highly knowledgeable in genealogy and took pride in preserving his family's legacy.

From 1956 to 1958, James served honorably in the United States Army in Korea after the Korean Conflict. After his service, he worked with Massey Ferguson from July 1960 until his retirement in July 1989 nearly thirty years of loyal and diligent service.

He is survived by his devoted wife of almost twenty years, Mildred B. Williams; stepchildren, Wayne (LynnDee) Webb of Wausau, FL and Melinda (Donnie) Russ of Chipley, FL; and a loving family of grandchildren, Melissa (Cornelio) Palma, Sherri Milton, Jessica Webb, Ashley Coleman, Sarah (Roy) Martin, Joshua (Sierra) Webb, Jennifer Russ, Jonathan (Shelly) Webb, and Susan (William) Bryant. He also leaves behind seventeen great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength and deep wisdom. His legacy will continue to live on in the lives he touched and the stories he so carefully preserved.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Marvin Chapel Cemetery beginning at 3:30 p.m. with military honors provided by the United States Army. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice.

Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of Bonifay.
