It is with deep love and remembrance that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Gibson Williams on Friday, November 21, 2025. Our beloved Betty has had a blessed life of 74 years, and we give thanks for her life of caring and kindness.
Betty was born on March 1, 1951, to the late James Gibson and the late Cora Lee Christopher Gibson. She had made her home in Canton and had been employed for many years as a certified nursing assistant, working at many health facilities throughout Haywood County. Betty's kindness was like a ray of sunshine to her patients, and she always ensured that she gave each one special attention, bringing a little happiness to their day.
Beyond her work, Betty found great peace in the simple pleasures of life. She was a wonderful cook, always making certain that no one left her table hungry. She also delighted in working with her beautiful flowers and taking care of her little pet bird, "Speedy," for 28 years. What joy he has brought to Betty throughout the years!
Betty's favorite place was her front porch. Sitting and visiting with neighbors and friends who stopped by was an important part of her days. It was only fitting that her Lord and Savior called her home while Betty was resting on her porch. This was her special place where memories were shared, where her family gathered around her, and where much love was always present.
Above all, Betty cherished her family, and though she has left this world, her precious memory will remain with each of them forever. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and she will be remembered always.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wade Williams, of 46 years; a daughter, Becky Burgess; sisters, Sue Ward and Polly Seitler; and a brother, Michael Gibson.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bunny Williams of Canton and Tony Williams and wife Pam of Canton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ricky-Hunter and Luke, Robert (Heather), Riley and Ryan, Lindsay (Josh) Landon, Ainsley, Mackenna, Cannon, Austin (Tenicia), Craten, and Rose; Kelsey (Hunter), Caroline and Kamber, Jami (Aaron), Bree, Addy, Lainey, Leena, Bailey (Payton) and Carly; a sister, Betty Ann Gauthier of Michigan; brothers, Sonny Gibson of Canton and Bill Gibson of Canton.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Williams will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Reverend Ronald Green will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery in Clyde, NC.
Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Services is deeply honored to be caring for the Williams family.
