James Leroy Willis, 91 of Macedonia passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at his home.
Leroy was born March 23, 1934, in Magnolia, Arkansas. He retired from Alcoa after 44 years of service and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, building birdhouses and folding dollar bills that he handed out as gifts.
Leroy began his church membership at Brister Baptist Church as young man and was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Newton Willis and Rosie Lee (Dodson) Willis; his wife of 64 years, Martha Madeline (Risher) Willis; his brothers, Robert Willis and Thomas Willis; and a son in law Robbie Stocks.
Leroy is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Weaver and husband Larry of Smackover, Arkansas and Sharron Hines and husband Kevin of Magnolia, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Carrie Jackson and husband John of El Dorado, Arkansas, Lori Weaver of Bauxite, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Tyler Havard and wife Ciara of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Brayden Weaver and Tristan Sandberg of Bauxite, Arkansas; and a great great grandson Mason Havard of Jacksonville, North Carolina; a sister Sue Elmore of Magnolia; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2015 at Macedonia Cemetery and a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am at Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Owens officiating and a visitation and fellowship to follow under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia.
