James Gerald Wireman, age 92, of Leeco, Kentucky, widower of the late Nancy Martin Wireman, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Lee County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beattyville, Kentucky. He was born on October 24, 1932, to the late Arthur Wireman and the late Elsie Boyd Wireman. Gerald cherished his family, finding unwavering strength and support in their love. He dedicated his working years as a driller for Wiser Oil and Bretagne Oil. In his leisure time, Gerald found joy in the embrace of nature—tending to his vibrant garden, casting his fishing line into the waters, and embarking on adventurous squirrel hunts through the woods. The great outdoors was his sanctuary, a place where he felt most alive. With a quick wit and playful spirit, Gerald loved to share jokes, bringing laughter to those around him. His zest for life was plain to see, and every moment was an opportunity to celebrate the beauty of living. Gerald was a loving and devoted member of the Torrent First Church of God and a follower of Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by one son: Gerald Wayne Wireman; four sisters: Geraldine Morton, Juanita Babcock, Beatrice Centers, and Pauline Jones; and two great-grandchildren: Sawyer Kole Parks and Easton Kole Parks. Gerald is survived by one son: James Kevin (Renee) Wireman of Leeco; one daughter: Kathy Ann (Alton) Hughes of Stanton; one sister: Irene Crowder of New Richmond, Ohio; one sister-in-law: Mary Bowen of Bowen; four grandchildren: Kristi (Joey) Parks, Kayla (Josh) Carroll, Kesha (Cooper) Carson, and Kevin "Bub" (Donna) Wireman; and six great-grandchildren: MaKayla Hope Parks, Khloe Grace Carroll, Lauryn Faith Parks, Kinslee Kate Carroll, Katti Ann Carson, and Lydia Ruth Carson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. James Harold Combs will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 18, 2025. Burial will be held at Wireman Cemetery in Leeco with Josh Carroll, Joey Parks, Phillip Lane, Dennis Adams, James Kevin Wireman, Cooper Carson, Kevin "Bub" Wireman, and Alton Hughes serving as active pallbearers.
