James Wood Obituary

James Raymond Wood, 94, of Westminster, MD passed away on September 9, 2025 at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born on October 24, 1930 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James E. Wood and Mathilda (Windisch) Wood. He is also preceded in death by siblings, Jack Richard Wood, Corinthia Y. Elkins, Doris "Dottie" Owens; and step-daughter, Kate Lane. James was a man of many trades. He was a mechanic for most of his life but also spent time as a tractor trailer driver and recently retired from being a bus attendant for the ARC. He was a member of the Living Church of God, Moose Lodge #1381 and Eagles Lodge. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. James is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Marie Wood; stepchildren, Larry Miller, Trudy Glowacki, Yvonne Green, and Dooley Miller; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will welcome friends on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 11 to 12pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD. A funeral service will begin at 12:00pm with Buzz Marvel officiating.
