James Clifton Wright Jr., known affectionately to many as "Jim" or "Jamie," passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2025, at the age of 35. Born on September 26, 1989, Jamie lived his life with a big heart, a kind soul, and a gift for making others smile.
Jamie’s greatest pride and joy was his beloved son, Dakota Wright. His love for Dakota was unconditional, and every moment spent together was cherished beyond measure. He is also survived by his loving parents, Jim and Laura Wright; his siblings Danielle (Jon) Laug, Aaron (Samantha) Wright, and Carey (Kevin) Brechting; and his adored nieces and nephews Ava and Sophia Laug, Addison Wright, and Kaden, Jack, and Nash Brechting.
Jamie was a loyal friend, the kind of person who could light up a room with his humor and warmth. His heart bled for others; he carried a deep empathy for people, always willing to offer a helping hand or listening ear. Whether through a small gesture or a grand act, Jamie lived his life making others feel seen, loved, and cared for.
Although his time here was far too brief, the impact Jamie had on those who knew him will last forever. His laughter, kindness, and the love he poured into his family and friends will continue to live on in their hearts.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404, with Fr. Michael Hodges celebrant. Burial will take place in Nunica Cemetery. A luncheon and visitation will occur immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Carey Brechting C/O his beloved son Dakota, ensuring Jamie’s love continues to provide for him. The family also invites everyone to honor Jamie’s memory by extending acts of kindness to others—whether big or small—as a tribute to the way Jamie lived his life: with an open heart and deep compassion. Condolences for the family may be left on James’s guestbook at www.throopfh.com.
