James Garland Wright

James Garland Wright, 54, Bedford, Va., departed this life on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born March 3, 1971 to Edmund Brown and the late Delores Wright. He was preceded in death by his sisters Torina L. Wright and Stacey A. Wright.

James graduated from Liberty High School, and he proudly served in the United States Army National Guard. James later attended Johnson and Wells University where he earned certification in Culinary Arts. James was a hard worker and loved what he did at Bimbo Bakeries USA.

James found God at an early age. He was also a car enthusiast and loved going to car shows and drag races. If he wasn't watching drag races, he wanted to watch his favorite team, the Pittsburg Steelers. In his past time, you would find him listening to music, cooking for his family or watching Bluey with his ''AJ''. James had a big heart and contagious laugh. He had a nickname for everyone but expected you to call him Garland or James.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Nicole Wright, his children Jocelyn, Taja, James and Jordan (Vhuthuhawe). His grandchildren Sevyn, August and Amato. Siblings left to cherish his memories are his brother Troy Brown (Kim) his five sisters; Deborah Coles (Richard), Vicky Brown, Sandra Dyke, Kimberly Dudley (Eddie) and Karen ''Lisa'' Bonds. His uncles Rawlince Wright and Robert Wright (Jeannie) and his aunt Ernestine Langhorne. His nieces and nephews Porscha, Antrunette, Katilin, Armondo, Antionne, Zjion and other relatives and friends who dearly loved him.
