James Yowler

James "Jimmy" F. Yowler, 60, of Rockton, IL died at 8:46 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in his home after a brief illness.

He was born March 13, 1996, in Rockford, IL and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Elizabeth (Hafer) Yowler. He went to Jefferson High School in Rockford, Illinois. He worked for a time at Rosecrance, where he helped others who were battling addiction. He also supported his family by caring for his niece and nephew while his brother was at work. In addition to his devotion to his family, Jimmy was known for his deep love for animals. He especially cherished the dogs he and his sister shared - Nelly, Dudley, Meika, Stella, and Fritz. He also enjoyed sports cars, fine arts, and constructing intricate miniature models.

Survivors include his father, Fred Yowler; sister, Jeannie Yowler; niece, Kristen (Yowler) Minett; and nephew, Aaron Yowler.

Predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth (Hafer) Yowler, and older brother, Gregory A. Yowler.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service, Saturday. Burial in Rockton Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
