James Patrick Zassadney, affectionately known as JP, left this world suddenly on April 15, 2024, leaving behind a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends. He was born on February 3, 2020, in Gaylord, MI.
JP's vibrant personality was a radiant force in the lives of those around him. His infectious laugh, his rawr like a dinosaur, and a smile that could light up any room are just a few of the countless ways he brought joy to others. His passions for Spiderman, Paw Patrol, Transformers, Avengers, and dinosaurs reflected his adventurous spirit and boundless imagination.
He is survived by his mother, Brittany Zassadney; his father, Jason McGovern; his step-father, Jeremiah; siblings, Brayden, Bella, and Elijah; stepsister, Kimberly; maternal grandparents, Peggy & John Zassadney; paternal grandparents, Patrick & Monica McGovern; step-grandmother, Dawn Gokey; his best buddies, Dominic and Jaxton; as well as aunts and uncle, Mike, James, Jeremy, Janis, Joe, Maddy, Tony, Brandy, Josh and Lisa; and several cousins. Tragically departing at such a young age, JP's memory will be cherished by many. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will always be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Paislee Nortley.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate JP's life will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A luncheon will follow at the Gaylord E-Free Church.
