Jami Dawn Alexander, 49, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 15, 2025, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. Born in Pueblo, Colorado, on June 23, 1976, Jami was raised in East Texas and was a loving, compassionate, and patient (yet competitive when it came to board games lol) wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi), sister, and friend.
Jami's greatest pride and joy was her family and friends. She loved hard, was incredibly wise and had an extraordinary passion for understanding and connecting with people. She was known for her rare ability to hold space for everyone, no matter their crossroads, and was always quick to help or find someone who could. Every life she touched was changed for the better.
Her academic pursuits reflected this passion, culminating in a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M that she was super proud of.
Jami used her natural desire to understand and help people in her various careers in Retail Management and Customer Service & Support, where she loved interacting with people in different environments. However, her heart was always focused on her close family, friends, and especially her precious granddaughter, Karsyn, who was her most beloved companion.
Jami's favorite pastimes included fishing, reading, and caring for all those around her, including her beloved pets. She was known for her love of games, especially Catan, and is likely playing a competitive game with her mother as we speak.
In 2018, Jami gained a beautiful extension to her family when she connected with a cousin, Wendy Spenneberg and her husband Tony through Ancestry. A truly special bond was created that will be deeply missed.
She met the love of her life, Ken Alexander, in high school in Marshall, Texas. Though they drifted apart for a time, they later reconnected and were married on August 18, 2019. Jami often fondly referred to Ken as "her person," and they both loved building their life together.
Jami made a lasting impression everywhere she went and had friends in all walks of life. A true light in the world. Jami used to brag about how blessed she was in life, though all who knew her know they were the ones who were truly blessed.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband, Ken Alexander; daughters, Khrystalynn and Elizabeth; and granddaughter, Karsyn, all of Longview, Texas. She is also survived by her siblings: Jessica Wiler of Marshall, Texas, Aron Bonner of Marshall, Texas; James Watson of Joplin, Missouri; Christian Jones of Stuart, Florida; and Dawn Shea Kolbachinkski of Austin, Texas; as well as numerous other dear friends and family.
Jami was preceded in death by the grandparents so dear to her heart, David and Carolyn Snow; her mother, Nancy Davis; and her brother-in-law, Randall Wiler, all of Marshall, Texas.
